Who we are
Avenue Group is a strategic communications consultancy operated by Avenue Group Pty Ltd, ABN 36 645 342 712. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Avenue Group.
We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you use the Meridian Scorecard: your name, work email, mobile number, organisation, role, team size and industry. We also collect your answers to the scorecard questions, including anything you type into the free-text fields.
When you contact us or book a call: your name, contact details and anything you tell us about your organisation.
When you work with us: information about your organisation and the people involved in an engagement, as needed to deliver it.
When you visit our website: technical information such as your browser, device, pages viewed and the site that referred you. This is collected through cookies and similar tools.
We do not ask for sensitive information, such as health information or political opinions. Please do not include it in free-text answers.
How we collect it
We collect most information directly from you, through our website, the scorecard, email, calls and meetings. Sometimes we collect business contact details from public sources, such as LinkedIn or your organisation's website, or from a person who refers you to us.
How we use it
We use your personal information to:
- prepare and send your scorecard result and report
- contact you to discuss your result or your enquiry
- scope, deliver and manage engagements
- send you marketing emails, where you have agreed to receive them
- understand what leaders are facing, so we can improve our services, content and research. Where we use scorecard answers this way, we combine and de-identify them first
- run our business, including billing, record keeping and meeting legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Software and AI tools
We use trusted software providers to run our business, including tools that use artificial intelligence. They help us organise information, prepare for calls and draft materials. These providers process information on our behalf and under our instructions.
No decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made by automated means alone. A person on our team reviews your result before we contact you.
Marketing and consent
We only send marketing emails if you have opted in, for example by ticking the box on the scorecard. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to opt out at any time.
If you do not opt in, we will still send the result you asked for and contact you about it.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed with:
- service providers who host our website, CRM, email and files
- specialist contractors who work on an engagement, under confidentiality obligations
- our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers
- anyone we are required or authorised to share it with by law
Overseas storage
Some of our providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States. Before using a provider, we take reasonable steps to make sure it protects personal information to a standard consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Security and retention
We protect personal information with access controls, secure passwords and reputable providers. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as the law requires. After that, we delete or de-identify it.
If our business changes hands
If Avenue Group, or part of it, is sold, merged or restructured, personal information may transfer to the new owner. It will continue to be handled in line with this policy, and we will tell you if that changes.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. If we cannot give you access, we will explain why.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies to make it work and to understand how visitors use it. We use Google Analytics to measure visits, pages viewed and actions such as starting the scorecard. Google Analytics collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser. It does not give us your name or contact details. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly without them.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, email us first. We will acknowledge it within five business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with its effective date.
